La Sultana is a group of joined riads in the Kasbah quarter that shares a wall with the Saadian Tombs, with 28 rooms and suites around courtyards and a vast roof terrace looking over the medina, the Koutoubia minaret and, on clear days, the Atlas. Below, a spa with a traditional hammam and a heated outdoor pool. Jemaa el-Fna is a little over 15 minutes on foot, far enough to escape the noise of the square. It scores 9.3 over 184 reviews. I would choose it for a riad stay with a real pool, in the quieter southern medina.
- Go up to the roof terrace at sunset: it looks over the medina rooftops to the Koutoubia, and the Atlas shows on clear winter evenings.
- Visit the Saadian Tombs right at opening, before the groups: the entrance is a few steps from the hotel door.
